Fermary | Flavours That Heal | Post Summer Gut Reset Don't you feel like September has always felt like the beginning of the year? After the freedom and heat of summer, the scattered eating, disrupted routines, and overstimulation, there’s a deep biological and emotional pull to come back to centre. Back to simple nourishment, to structure, to slowness, and to food that genuinely supports your energy and mood. At Fermary, this is where we do our best work. Our jars are not just vibrant in flavour, they are alive with purpose. Fermentation, at its core, is about transformation. And I believe this season is, too. I want to be clear: we’re not interested in restriction, “cleanses,” or shame-driven resets. That might look like simplifying your meals, drinking more water, going to bed a little earlier, or adding ferments back into your day in small, consistent ways. Fermented foods are one of the simplest tools for rebalancing your gut, which in turn affects everything from energy and digestion to mood and immunity. And because they’re living, they naturally support your body’s ability to regulate, adapt, and heal. My own approach right now is not about adding pressure, it’s about building gentle structure. I’m focusing on: Making space for nourishing meals again - simple soups, roasted vegetables, beans, rice, fermented toppings. Having kraut or kimchi on my plate daily - not as an afterthought, but as part of the core nourishment. Being mindful of stimulants (coffee, sugar, too much digital input) and how they affect my nervous system. Returning to weekly food planning, without rigidity. Creating space in my life, not just my kitchen. Because food is information. What you eat tells your body what season you’re in - whether to fight or rest, to hold on or release. And fermented foods, especially, communicate “you are safe, supported, and nourished.” This month, we’re also preparing something special behind the scenes: a new digital home for Fermary. We cannot wait to share. Here are the three jars I’m using most as we move into autumn: Mellow Vegan Kimchi - calming, probiotic-rich, and flavourful without overwhelming heat. Smoke & Spice Kraut - warming and grounding, especially good with sweet potatoes, beans, and rice. Classic Beet Kraut - deeply earthy, beautiful with roasted root vegetables, goat cheese, or grains. All three support digestion, immune health, and the body’s natural shift into cooler weather. At Fermary, we’re not just making products. We’re offering rituals - small, delicious ways to return to yourself. This season, I invite you to reframe “routine” not as something boring or rigid, but as something sacred. Something that holds you, nourishes you, and helps you move forward with clarity and strength. Welcome back - to your kitchen, your rhythm, and your gut, September will be great! PS. If you feel called to bring more ferments into your September routine, we’re making it a little easier. All month, when you spend £40 or more in our shop, we’ll add a free jar of our award-winning Mellow Vegan Kimchi to your box. A small gift from us, to support your own return to rhythm.Back to You: A September Letter from Elena
Not in the loud, performative way that January often carries, but in a quieter, more embodied sense, an invitation to return to rhythm, to recalibrate, and to let go of what no longer serves. This is not a detox. It’s a return.
September is not about fixing your body. It’s about reconnecting with it. It’s about clearing the noise, in your schedule, in your fridge, and in your mind, so that you can hear yourself again. What I’m personally doing this month
